BS’D

The Besht explains the teaching of ‘loving your neighbor as you love thyself’ in the following manner. As you interact with your brethren with love and compassion, so too does G-d respond in kind. As we expand ourselves and harmonize our energies with others “for I am G-d like you…” measure for measure G-d shows us our perfected state of being.

However, when a person happens upon seeing a weakness, misdeed and/or disturbance by someone else it is a sure sign that this is found in her.  A completely righteous soul will not witness a default in someone else, therefore if it comes to her eyes to notice, indeed this serves as her reflection.

Since G-d, Torah and Israel are one, according to the Torah of the Besht, G-d shows us who we are through our interactions with others, thus enabling us measure for measure to correct our ways and grow into the G-dly essence of light we are meant to wear.
