The endless light of G-d is secure and safeguarded behind a cloak called materialism. The world was founded on the attribute of judgment/constriction which is represented by the body that limits the light of the soul. When the body experiences confinement and its desires and movements are weakened this means the light of the soul is being protected.
In fact when we view life from this perspective we clearly see that when life appears to be lacking and we experience limitations it is essentially sheltering G-d’s gentle loving kindness. As we accept the decree of not always ‘receiving’ that which we desire we weaken the barrier between judgment and kindness, body and soul, G-d and us; in turn the light of our soul becomes more apparent and accessible.
